Sydney Opera House, Eiffel Tower, Prague Dance House … You don’t have to go that far to see amazing buildings.
In Spain we have constructions of all kinds and for all tastes, modern and older, but which have their own personality and strength.
And to show you that we did a little compilation with 5 buildings in Spain that you will want to visit after seeing their pictures.
Take out the pen and paper because after writing down these names you no longer have an excuse to get to know the country more deeply.
We promise you will not regret it.
# 1. Ibiza Boas
It’s Las Boas de Ibiza residential complex which now also accepts temporary leases.
That’s one of the most luxurious buildings on the island and offers views of Formentera Island and Ibiza Old Town.
With its picturesque balconies full of greenery, this building is becoming one of the most beautiful in the country.
Wouldn’t you like to take a bath in that giant pool?
#dwo. Tenerife Auditorium
Perhaps Santiago Calatrava wanted to mark the Sydney Opera House when this building was commissioned for him. Think about it, with that proximity to the sea and that curvature management … there’s something about that that sounds familiar.
While not as flashy as Opera, the reality is The Tenerife Theater has a modern air that invites you to visit it and indulge in music.
Currently, this building serves as the seat of the Tenerife Symphony Orchestra.
In addition, it is the most modern civilian building in the Canary Islands and is a tourist attraction on the island.
So it is safe to stop if you visit Tenerife soon.
# 3. Wine town in Álava
If you are a wine lover, you will love this building.
Beneath that facade, designed Frank O. Gehry, hides the heart of the wine town of Marqués de Riscal.
In addition to having a winery with more than 150 years, where inside you can see the whole way from its opening in 1858 to the present day with the possibility of enjoying wine through the five senses, you also have a hotel.
Hotel Marqués de Riscal is a real visual spectacle of this visit. The luxury hotel with 61 rooms, 10 of which are suites, is divided into two buildings connected by a very striking promenade.
If the Guggenheim Museum seems admirable, wait to see the colors of this building.
# 4. Dalí Theater Museum of Figueras
You’re looking at the one that might be the only museum in Spain Let it be completely self-financed from its own income – and that says a lot.
The Dalí Theater Museum is a building entirely dedicated to the Catalan painter in his hometown and its facade must be level.
A building entirely designed by Dali and which has become an experience slide.
Without a doubt, what to place giant eggs and golden bread all over the facade is something that is hard to forget and we are sure you will want to visit after you read us.
# 5. Centoll in Oviedo
We return to our friend Calatrava to see this building so charismatic in the city of Oviedo.
It is colloquially known as Centollu (or crab spider) while its official name is the Palacio de Exposiciones y Congresos Ciudad de Oviedo.
It also served as a shopping center until 2019, when it had to close due to some infrastructural problems.
Exhibitions, an auditorium and 12 meeting rooms is what hides the interior of this infrastructure so characteristic of the Valencian architect.
But don’t tell us it doesn’t affect this building, huh?
Galicians are not wrong when they call it Cancer.
And now that you’ve seen these 5 buildings, we want to ask you, Which one would you like to visit after meeting? Which one did you miss on this list?
Do you know any charismatic building in Spain that deserves to enter this type of ladder?
We’re sure you have a favorite you fell in love with and you can share it with us in the comments.
